Christ Church welcomes you wherever you are on your journey of faith. Whether you’re visiting the area or looking for a church home, our church family is delighted to share our worship with you.
Life moves fast. In the rush of jobs, family, and responsibilities it’s easy to feel pulled in many directions. Our time can seem full, but not fulfilling. Busy, but not blessed. We can feel weighted down, but not anchored.
Christ Church speaks to these immediate challenges. Through scripture, study, music and fellowship, our members explore the lessons of Jesus Christ and how they relate to our lives today. What does it mean to be a mindful Christian in the 21st century? How can we truly love our neighbors as ourselves? How do we teach our children kindness and generosity in a ‘what’s in it for me’ world? These are the questions we seek to understand as we come together in fellowship and prayer.
WHO WE ARE
At Christ Church we believe in reflecting God’s love in a true spirit of warmth and openness. Our diversity is our strength. Our mixture of views, ethnicities, needs, lifestyles, career-paths, ages and life stages allows us to broaden our spiritual understanding and love for one another. Jesus made room for all kinds of people and so do we.
WHAT WE DO
Worship. Our eleven o’clock worship is an eclectic mix of timely and traditional texts and hymns. Our music ministry includes sacred music, spirituals, and blues; we celebrate the talents of our members through our adult and children’s choirs. The first half of our service is designed to facilitate families worshiping together. We believe children and youth grow in their faith by regular participation and encourage our youth to serve as acolytes and scripture readers. Each week our children enjoy a lesson prepared especially for them by a trained leader and our very own Chuckie the Church Mouse. A separate children’s church following the first half of the service provides additional child-friendly worship and allows parents and grandparents an opportunity for quieter prayer and reflection.
Learn. We provide year-round Sunday School at 10 AM for children, youth and adults. Classes include the Warren Fellowship and Agape groups for adults, the Youth Fellowship for young people, the Sapling class for elementary aged children, and the Seedling class for preschoolers. Children’s Choir rehearses at 9:45 AM during the school year, with periodic performances during the eleven o’clock service. Our United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meets at 5 PM on Sundays and includes activities such as youth missions, team-building, Bible study, and exciting trips to area attractions. Christ Church is the home of the highly-regarded Cornerstone Preschool, serving children from one to five years of age. We also proudly host Cub Scout Pack 135, which is devoted to fostering Christian values in boys grades 1 – 5.
Serve. Our missions outreach touches organizations such as Must Ministries, the Child Development Association, and several local children’s homes. We also regularly reach out to our surrounding community through special events held at our facility. These include our Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival, Blessing of the Animals, Easter Egg Hunt, our Community Garden, Vacation Bible School, and 4th of July Celebration.
We invite you to experience God’s love with our Christ Church Family!
